Working on this illustration was a nice change! Dark colors are sometimes refreshing to play with *q*
I remember having a couple of totally different ideas for this illustration (can be seen in my twitter), but we ended up going with this one! To give everyone a bit of a context: Oki-sura are a pair of Demon and human child, that take part in a Tournament called the Battle of Realms. Since a very important part of this tournamet is for the Demon to protect his partner, I wanted to portray this with their poses ;u; (Yveltin holding Auresnee up and ready to slash anyone in half hoho! `7´9 ).

As for the background, I remember drawing something compleeeeeeeeeeeeeetely different at first, until Vestigance pointed out to me that it was a "Hell" setting and made some really good suggestions! Based on them, I focused on using a lot of red, and keeping things oriental-inspired, since their designs go along this theme Also even though it's a "Hell" setting, I really wanted to add a sky with a huge red moon after reading through some of the suggestions QuQ I think it adds more to the dramatic effect, plus it helped connect the blues and reds in the characters' designs! °Y°b
