Amazing job. I've been working on a vector of a photo I took - my first try of a vector. If it comes out even a quarter as good as this, I'll be incredibly happy.

Wow, so detailed, and a great idea; using vectoring and details in photoshop. Gives it more depth and edge. I love the hair on Elle, and Vernita looks really well painted, attention to detail. The characters all look great!

I'm impressed. Wait, that's not hard to do. Awesome job! I really like the poses and the way they don't block each other. And the coloring is awesome. Also the expressions, and the clothing is dead on.

Love the movie and love this picture. I've been tryin to figure out how to do people like that with Auto trace and what not. I suck, don't know how to do it. Any hints or tips would help. Feel free to IM me if u care to help. Definite fav.

Well about 80% of the piece is done in Illustrator. It depends how simple or complex you want the piece to be, I always tend to have it kind of detailed. Auto trace works sometimes, but its hard to control and you can usually tell when someone uses it. I think the most important thing is to learn the pen tool in Illustrator, that's what I use most. You have to learn to draw back to front, like first the skin, then the eyes, then the hair on top, layers always help. And I love using the different calligraphy brush strokes in Illustrator for the hair. Hope to see you try some illustrations!
