Chrom: well 1, she's my daughter and i don't want her hurt, 2, she's my wife's daughter too and she'll kill me if there's a scratch on her, and 3, she saves from the future so if any happens to her bad hings will no be prevented.
Marth: I thought your timelines worked like Multiverse theory. You know, every decision makes a new time line?
Lucina: (Tired and Confused).
Chrom: No, i'm sure that's not how it goes.
Lucina: but if she saves you earlier, and you are ok, then she wouldn't be the same person and there would be no need for her to go back in time, so basically she would not exist from that era, but her older self is here now, with her own daughter and husband, AKA your best friend, so that means it work by multiverse.
Lucina: (playing with 1 year old morgan) *SNEEZE*
Morgan:.....WAAAAAHHHAHAHAHAAAAA
Lucina: OH NO, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, come here, shhhh, shhhh.
Robin: what happened?

Marth: NO, BECAUSE SPACE AND REALITY IS INFINITE SO IT CAN HOLD IMPOSSIBLE REALITIES AS A WHOLE! AND I GIVE UP REASONING WITH AN IDIOT!

They're both from different games; Marth form the Shadow Dragon and Mystery of the Emblem with Lucina from the Awakening. Awakening just takes place a really long time after Marth's time (I don't know if it's a thousand years or hundreds years later). Since Lucina has many similarities to Marth, she used his name for as a symbol of hope (I guess). Sorry if I sound like some wierdo responding to your thought 1:30 in the morning but I can't help it -especially when you said this a few hours ago. The first I saw them, I remember, I couldn't even see a difference between them excluding hair lengths. You can check this out:
