i didn't play the first very much. But the story lines are sequential instead of just separate "movies" like the first one. There are more special infected and the weapons are legit. I also like the levels themselves. there's a building-focused city, a carnival, a swamp, and another street-focused city. They also do internet updates for different levels.

you need it to get started and every so often it will stop working and require you to connect and update it but if you have access to an internet cafe you shouldn't have to do it more than once a month
