.. and she's looking for something! Thanks to for a bday present that involved a drawing of Tulip and Mitsuki's character Moire, that prompted me to think of Tulip as a protagonist for a first short story

Haha, that's cool. Not to sound like a snarky dork, but she seems like a French ninja :/
Loving that beret and the hairstyle c:

She has the ninja moves, but she's Irish and that beret is definitely not helping her look Irish

Haha, she was born for my college homework. We had to redesign the cast of the Red Riding Hood and I went Irish with that

The camera view is great! I love it!
I wonder what she's looking for...
I still want to incorporate her into Moire's world.

I wanted to call this piece "Looking for Moire".

Oh well, why didn't you then?
I wonder why is she looking for her?

I had this strange notion that something was stolen from Tulip by Moire since perhaps Moire doesn't have a sense of property ownership since she grew up in a forestΒ

MoonKestrel In reply to saltytowel [2014-05-23 15:52:29 +0000 UTC]
Or probably simply misplaced it to have Tulip join a hide and seek game of the forest kind

saltytowel In reply to MoonKestrel [2014-05-23 17:49:02 +0000 UTC]
Hmmm Mischievous and fun seeking Moire wanting the ever serious but good hearted Tulip to join her in her forest game of hide and seek. Most interesting. Will that be ok if I compose the first short story with Moire in it alongside Tulip ?

MoonKestrel In reply to saltytowel [2014-05-23 18:36:44 +0000 UTC]
Sure, Moire isn't that mischievous, she is good hearted and kind, and did go to human/normal school for some years, so she is not all that bad. She just can't go against her fox nature sometimes.
And yes, go ahead, we can always make changes if need be!

That sounds really cool, I love the mixture of the nature of the fox with a human's kind nature. This will work really well in a story!

That was a bit of the idea. I try to think out all the possible ramifications of a character so that I can build their character (oh words, why do you have to mean different things but be the same word?). I didn't want a human to just have the ears and tail as decoration (hence why I specifically decided she has no human ears at all, only the fox ones) or to look pretty, it had to be something deeper, but since she's mostly human, she does have a heart and kindness, and I think in a way the inner fight of the two wolves (the good and the bad) is harder and more brutal, since she also has an animal instinct.

Do you think foxes don't have a kind heart?
How are her animal instincts come into play? This is interesting.

MoonKestrel In reply to saltytowel [2014-07-22 17:56:26 +0000 UTC]
I do think they do in their own foxy way (?)
I am still trying to figure it out, but could be the hiding or the attacking/defending stuff, or foraging and such things. Then also the whole need to follow the seasons so hibernate in winter stuff, so it could be interesting.

Thanks mate! One of the most challenging things for me to do, is to move the camera either up and make it look down or vice versa.

It's a useful tool and not so hard to learn, perhaps tedious at times. Although there are great photoshop tool that can help with perspective ^_^

Yea it is very useful and necessary. Since I work with very basic perspectives, I wing most of it and hope I got it right I just need to start studying a lot of tutorials and practicing again. Been a while since I did that.Β

You know, I mostly don't practice the hard skills in art too but when I do, it results in almost immediate improvement. I hate and love doing these drilling exercises but I can't deny the good that comes out of them.
