     That look on his face wasn't realization that he would never see his homeworld or those he left behind again, it wasn't the monumental slaughter that he called himself lucky to have survived, it wasn't even that he was surrounded by replacements that he'd never met before the attack, his original company were all dead now...even the mean comissar, he strained to remember his face.  That stoic look he got only after he saw the Archivist snapping panoramic holos of the battle sight, he knew he could die tomorrow but at least someone would remember his face.
