Description
In my head Merlin becomes this kind of Doctor-esque figure in the time that he waits for Arthur to return. While he waits, he watches over his king’s land, a guardian—a constant protector, because Albion needs him. So he disguises himself as a doctor, a teacher, a student, anything, and always steps in quietly to save Arthur’s Albion, when Albion has need of it. He can be whoever he wants at any given moment, because he’s Merlin.

Because although he longs for the day when Arthur will return, he will never let Arthur’s kingdom fail, not when he could prevent it. He protects it because it’s what Arthur would want.

It’s lonely. He can never stay in one place for too long. But he knows it will be worth it.

Anyway, I’ve been overwhelmed by Merlin feels lately, and I had to draw SOMEthing Merlin-y!
