don't get me wrong, I get it completely.

No one wants their art to be used in an AI generator. I mean, myself included, but my art isn't as impressive as some of the other folks here.

but what good does deleting it do?

as explained here: www.deviantart.com/k-zlovetch/… regardless of what you do, there's really no hiding it. Not only are you deleting all of your hard work; but now you can't file any reports on any pieces that might've been taken/used. (or maybe you can, but I dunno.)

most folks just up and left as soon as they saw the words AI, seemingly without a second thought.

I mean, I considered it; i ain't trying to have my art used without my consent, but I also didn't want to lose all of my work over something that I didn't fully understand yet. not to mention that there were few art site options. so i stood back and wanted to ride it out. and low and behold, it payed off; DA was slammed so hard it backpedaled and scrapped the "opted in" option entirely.

DA actually listened! and with all the backlash it's still getting as well as the handful of users that left, there's hope that it'll scrap the AI entirely!

which is why I'm still... not impressed with how many people had left, deleted their art/and or plan to leave.

This impulsiveness reminds me of none other than pink diamond.

both Deviantart and the users that have done the following above made very rash decisions that may have unfavorable long-term results.

again, I'm not trying to beat on people who made this decision, If they don't feel safe here, I understand. I'm just disappointed at how quick everyone was to leave on the spot.

also, my Classic Steven [Universe] optimism may hurt me in the future. when that happens, I'll delete this. but until then...

maybe think thoroughly before leaping?
