Description When you've played RPGs as long as I have, you start to notice patterns. Like the elemental alignment system that pretty much all RP games use.

So, I took the traditonal 'core' elements- Fire, Water, Earth Air, and then interspersed the 'RPG' elements: Thunder, Ice, Light and Dark. Oddly enough they actually fit- for example, Water and Air can combine to make Ice, Fire (heat) and Earth can make Thunder, and so on.

I also added 'Life' at the centre, since it took all these elements however many billion years to mix and match until life on Earth happened

Yay for boredom.

This is very similar to my own ideal element wheel, though ice was opposite fire and water was opposite lightning. The whole mix and match idea just seems a bit silly to me, but I'm not here to critique your choices. Leaving out wood or plant seemed only natural because, well, that's a classification of living thing, not an element. Metal just seemed gratuitous. Light and Dark I excluded from the regular part of the wheel, seeing as how they're exempt from the regular rules of elemental rps. It's always interesting to see someone else's take on the matter, though.

I do apologize for not commenting on your pic earlier; seeing as I 'ed this. I really like the idea of an element wheel. My personal opinion is that the wheel is missing the Wu Xing elements Metal and Wood, but that would make the wheel lopsided. What did you use to make the embossed icons for the elements?

No problem

I just drew the symbols in Photoshop and used the Bevel/ Emboss filter.

The elements are just what I see used in RPG video games. It's more like a guide to help remember what's weak against what element than anything else, lol!

This is really cool. I like it. Although I play many RPGs, I haven't really paid much attention to the pattern until you pointed out, and now I can really see it.

I can definitely appreciate the thought behind this. :3 ...and it's pretty, too!
