"It's sprained."

Sophie cursed under her breath, throwing her fist to the ground in frustration, "Great."

"You'll need to rest it for a few days. I won't have you walking on a sprained ankle, let alone riding," her instructor Rachel informed her.

She rose back to her feet, leaving Sophie sitting in the sand of the arena ground.

"A few days! But I can't!" Sophie retorted.

"You can. And you will."

"But-!"

"Calm down Soph, I can cover your half of the work," Patrick piped up, walking over to his twin sister.

He held the reins of the horse who'd just thrown her, following behind him like a guilty puppy dog.

Sophie had fallen off after her mount had stumbled over some trotting polls. Patrick hid a sneaky chuckle as he gave the horse a few scratches behind the ears.

"It's not the work, I've got the show tomorrow Pat! I can't miss it! Little Tea has been working so hard, I know she was really looking forward to it."

Patrick shook his head, "There'll be other shows."

"You don't get it. We've got a routine and props and everything. I can't miss it!"

Rachel sighed as the twins bickered back and forth. If she didn't intervene they'd be there for the rest of the afternoon.

"Patrick will do the show for you."

The twins stopped and turned to Rachel as if she'd just spoken another language. As they remained silent, Rachel continued.

"Patrick will take Tea to the show for you, problem solved."

"Wait, I didn't agree to this!" Patrick complained.

"No, but you'll do it out of the goodness of your heart for your dear sister."

Rachel folded her arms and gave Patrick a look, showing him there would be no further discussion on the matter.

"But..." Patrick's jaw hung open as he failed to see any way out of the sudden situation.

"Pwease Patty," Sophie began to make her bottom lip tremble, looking up at her brother with great big eyes.

Patrick huffed, annoyed. "Don't call me that."

"Pwetty pwease Patty Pat Pat!" Sophie teased.

"Alright!" Patrick threw his hands in the air in defeat, "Alright. But I've never shown a mini before."

Rachel moved over and took the reins from Patrick, walking Sophie's horse out of the arena. Patrick knelt down and took Sophie around the middle, carefully lifting her to her feet. She slipped her arm around his neck as the two of them slowly hobbled after Rachel.

"Let's go back to the house and I'll show you the routine with my model horses," Sophie grinned as she clung to her brother to support her weight. "And then you can practice and do a proper dress rehearsal."

"A dress rehearsal?" Patrick exclaimed. "Don't we just have to walk and trot?"

"I told you we have a routine. Tea knows it by heart, so we'll have to make sure you stand in the right place at the right time. You'll let Tea do her thing while you focus on not dropping the tea set."

"The what now?"
