Backstory:
Joseph Morgan used to be a farmer who, along with his wife, owned a ranch. They came home one night to find a stranger in their home, only to find out that the intruder was Joseph's long-lost adopted brother Daniel, whom he had thought was dead for over a decade. Their conversation began civilly, but quickly devolved into arguing when Daniel discovered that his adoptive parents had died and that Joseph had moved on with his life. Daniel felt abandoned and betrayed by his brother, and blamed him for his kidnapping all those years ago. When Joseph demanded that Daniel leave his home, Daniel, in a fit of rage, used his powers to hurl multiple spikes from his wrist gauntlets across the room, one of which fatally struck Joseph's wife. Daniel, realising what he had done, tried to apologise and explain that he had never meant to harm her, but Joseph ignored what he had to say and pulled his gun out and attempted to kill him.
Daniel stopped the bullet and tossed it back at Joseph, severely injuring him. Daniel grew even more enraged and decided to burn down his old home, leaving Joseph to perish in the fire, but Joseph had enough strength to escape the burning building and collapsed in the freezing snow. As he lay dying in the snow. An old decrepit hermit approached him and carried Joseph to his cart and taken him to his hut. The hermit, who was actually a demi-god decided to pass on his power to Joseph, instantaneously healing what would have been fatal wounds. When Joseph regained consciousness, he realised that his wounds had healed, but he was shocked to see that the skin on his left arm had disappeared completely and his fingers were nothing but bone. He started demanding to know what had happened to him, and the hermit explained to him that he's now a demi-god with the power of necromancy and handed him one of the books of Aldrelias, telling him to read the book to learn about his new abilities.
When Joseph asked why the hermit gave up his ability to heal him, the hermit explained that he discovered the book and gain his powers at a very old age and had lived for centuries. he felt he had lived long enough and wanted to pass on his abilities to someone else and decided to pass it on Joseph after witnessing what happened to him.
Joseph was determined to seek vengeance, so he began reading the book he had been given in order to master his new abilities. He then changed into a new outfit and constructed a coffin to transport his arsenal of weapons as well as his departed wife's ashes, earning him the title of the Pallbearer.
