Description
Okay, here it is. My current Copic marker count (Including Refills)I've been using Copics for almost 5 years now. INSANITY RIGHT?
Now, I'm a huge fan of ink markers and have used many, from Copic, Prismacolor, Chartpak, Promarkers, all the way to the many different brands of Paint Markers.
Copic DEFINITELY takes the cake for me.
I remember when I first got Copics. I asked for some for Christmas back in 2010. After opening my gifts, I realized I didn't get them, which was okay, I was happy with what I had received.
But then my mom came out of her room with a "Surprise gift" Which were my first ever copics.
It was a set of 36 she bought off Ebay, they weren't a legit set, and it just had a bunch of random colors. (Actual picture of them can be seen here samcolwell.deviantart.com/art/… )
I was fucking stoked.
And now, almost 5 years from then, this is where I am. I have a majority of the colors now and am only really missing about 100. I will eventually get them in the future, but for this year I was mainly concerned about getting refills (bottom right) for the colors I used the most.
In July, I was able to visit the Blick Store in Boston, which has ALL copic marker colors and refills.
Lets just say, I spent almost $300 on markers and refills there. Literally all of the money I brought was spent on markers.

This is currently my "Marker bag". It's an old Air Canada travel bag that my mom received a few years ago because she travels a lot. Back in 2013, I took it and rigged it up to hold my markers, So I don't have to sift through multiple pencil cases to get the color I needed. I took this bag to school with me EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
And now that I am done school, it simple stays next to my bed.
I actually tried to upgrade my bag, and tried to buy the actual Copic Marker carrying bag, so that I could hold ALL of my markers, including paint markers. But fucking Amazon wouldn't ship to Canada, the Copic site was sold out and Ebay wanted almost $200 for it, so I figured I'd wait for a while.
And before anyone comments about the colors not being organized (Because I posted the same thing on Instagram, and EVERYONE and their mother commented about how I should organize the colors)
I CHOOSE to have it unorganized.
I like the colors being all mixed up, so I keep it dysfunctional.

I've had it on very good authority that you are not missing a single thing with the large Copic bag carrying case, as it was on my wish list for a long time as well. I think the main complaint I've heard is that since you have to keep your pens in what are essentially "felted cups" inside of a carrying bag, people didn't like the disorder.... thinking about it, you might not mind that at all.
Nice set though. What is the average you pay per pen and per refill? I can only dream of having that many colors someday, it looks like a bubble gum machine exploded in your bag, the array of mixed colors makes me happy to see. I am incredibly grateful for the copics I have and if I never received another pen in my life, I would still love what I have.

Well see, with the Copic marker bag, I wouldn't use the cups. I like my markers to be all squished together you could say (noted from my current bag) So With all of the other markers I have aside from Copic, I'd be able to almost fill the bag without using the divider cups. I'd simply rig up my own dividers. As you can see I do have one to separate my Copics from my Prismas (which will eventually be replaced once I obtain more colors)
But as for right now, it's not too much of a priority.
I usually pay $7.99 per when I shop locally at my work (Michaels) or the art store up in my downtown area.
Although I've gotten them for around $5-$6 online as well. But as of right now, that isn't cheap for me because the Canadian Dollar is extremely low, and I'd end up paying over $8 Canadian for a $6 marker.
Refills I've only gotten online, and when I visited the Blick Store in Boston. It's pretty much the same price as a marker $8 or $5-$6 American.
It certainly took a long time for me to obtain this collection. A lot of money spent lets just say.
I hope to get all the colors one day, but I'm not too concerned about that right now. If I happen to have some extra cash, I will most likely buy a few new colors, but most will go to refills.
