Description
EHHHHHHHH BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEM!!
I drew this in less than 24 hours (for once)... x)
So, one question is: What would you do if you had the chance to spend some time (or to go for a date) with Master Joris?
I often tend to wonder what it could have been like if a character was real.

Hi Sam,
I'm afraid I don't know about all the actual elements that are considered a part of this style of drawing, but I think you have done a great job on this. It has great cell shading and very smooth drawing lines. It takes a steady hand to do the detail work you have put into this with your drawing tools.
Thank you so very much for submitting Spending Time to the group's showcase and sharing it with the group.

Hello, Emerald!
First of all, thank you very much for your kind words. It is very well appreciated!
It was actually drawn with a mouse and PAINT.NET.
The line tool was used a lot to make the lineart look more straight and harmonious (otherwise, it is usually a mess x)
Also lowered the layer's opacity so it fits more I guess and contributes to some sort of semi-realistic effect.
Though it takes awhile to make it, and it is not as convenient as a common tablet, I guess it's still possible to do something out of it.
Thank you a lot for your comment!

Your very welcome and I'm amazed that you have been able to do that kind of work with a mouse. That would make it extra hard to do.

Your very welcome Sam,
I feel every piece of art is a part of the artist. Every drawing and painting tells the viewer something about the artist. Art is a matter of taste also. The colors and subject matter can effect the viewer depending on what the viewer likes or dislikes and has nothing to do with the artists skill level.

Hmmm well...
"I feel every piece of art is a part of the artist. Every drawing and painting tells the viewer something about the artist."
This is, in fact, a quite interesting interpretation of art! I guess sometimes an artwork tells a lot of things about the person who has drawn it, though not everything can be decrypted if the artist is not known personally. But indeed! that's what makes it interesting: there is that intriguing part that doesn't only concern the artwork per se, but also the artist who has imagined it and pictured it!
I remember I once read someone saying the number of fav's over someone's artworks didn't always describe the quality of their art.
Which was also an interesting way to view it... something kinda comforting!
I guess some artworks are more the cup of tea of a majority of peeps than others that fit more... to a little community of likings. Hahaha
Well, I guess this reflects more or less your comment.

You have made and excellent point in what you have said here.
I do completely agree with the person who said the number of fav didn't always describe the quality of their art. Every one has a different definition of what quality is.
To be completely honest I would rather have comments than favs. When people just drop favs with no comment the artist has no idea what it is about the their art that people like.
If an artist can make the viewer feel something what ever that feeling is the artist has done his job.
I'm not a very good artist myself. Never became real proficient at any particular medium. There is just something inside me that makes me want to do it whether anyone likes it or it just sits in a drawer at home. Believe me I have tons and tons of drawings sitting at home that will never see the light of day. lol.

Well, I guess it's kind of the same over here! I'm fine with favZ, but comments are way more supportive and comforting in my opinion... x)
Plus you can exchange with the artist who made it or be the artist who exchanges with the viewers!
I still like Fav'Z but I guess I always love receiving some feedbacks!
Ohhh ok, well... not lying, it's true when you share your artworks on dA, it's usually to share your interest with other peeps, and literally share them with a whole community.
I've ended up trying to think that sometimes, you may not receive something now, but one day... it may happen that someone just finds one of these old pieces, and recognize themself in it! You may just make someone else's day without even imagining at first! (Well, that's what happened once or twice... I guess sometimes it's more of a matter of time )
This said, well... it's true if you truly like drawing, even if nobody looks at them... you may just want to make them in your corner and it's all good! It surely won't prevent you from keeping on after all!
