Description
I call her Lady.Outloud, I call her nothing.
But in my head she's
Lady.
She has brown hair like
my big sister's old doll
(I begged her to take
me with her, I held onto
her leg and cried until lady pried
my fingers loose of her jeans and
Kelly walked away with her
shoulders going up and down)
but Lady's hair is going grey now,
and my sister's old doll is still brown.
I had to have my forehead
sewed up, like my skin was a
ripped coat. The kids in
school called me Frankinstine.
I told them all that I fell down
the stairs. That's what Lady told
the doctors too. (Sometimes she makes up
that I have the flu and I have to stay
home from school and take tablets.)
But really, Lady smacked my head
off the wall in the hall
because I kicked my football in the
house. Then she burst my
special Ronaldo football with a big
knife and said she'd do the same to
my belly if I wasn't quiet, with this
horrible spiky grin on her face.
So I stopped crying and wiped all the red
off the wall with my sleeve in case Lady saw it
and charged at me like a bull.
Then it went all black.
After my head got sewed up,
Lady cried and drank
brown water from a big bottle and
fell asleep on the coffee table.
I don't play football anymore.
I call her Lady.
Outloud, I call her nothing.
But in my head she's
Lady.
I haven't called her Mummy
for a very long time.

This is excellent
And you're getting too good at this psychoanalysis ;D
It did seem to be more of a punishment than a sympathy-trip though...in my opinion
Nonetheless, you are an amazing writer and I love the tension and concept xx
