Description This is Nonja. Until she passed away, December 29, 2007, she was known as the oldest Orangutan (pongo pygmaeus) in captivity. Nonja was 55 yrs young.
It was feeding time and she just wanted the zookeeper to feed her so she could go back and chill in the shade! She passed away, in her sleep, eight days later. She was and still is in my mind, a beautiful girl!!
