Description
This is my first submission to Deviant Art, but I've been drawing for a few years. I was lucky enough to have been taught by Lee Hammond in a photo-realistic style. This is my pencil drawing of Frodo from Return of the King. I wonder if anyone can tell which specific scene? ; ) It took me about 3-4 weeks to do, but I'm still not sure if it is finished. I haven't decided if I should have a background or not. The hair and the cape were the hardest thing to do on this one.Related content

You have talked with Lee? Wow, that's great! She is a really nice teacher and very understanding. Was she giving you advice on a drawing?
I would love to see your picture. Thanks for the compliment.

Thank you! I really appreciate your comments!
I've deceided to leave it the way it is, without a background.

Thank you! Yeah, his face took quite a while to get right, and the hair. I started erasing the background today and it's really difficult. There are a lot of smears left.

Very nice! I always thought the Elijah was hard to draw--he just has one of those faces. I really like what you have done here--the shading the the details are great!

Thanks for your comments Zindi and Eveline! Much appreciated!
About the background, I think I'll probably erase what I started a couple months ago; it just doesn't look quite right. And if it's not missed, I probably shouldn't add it. Thanks Eveline!

Wow, I love this drawing. The clothing looks so realistic. I would say it's a photo if I didn't know it was a drawing.
About a possible background... mmm no I don't think you should do that. It looks perfect the way it is now. I don't miss a background.
Great job.

Thanks Snow-Owl and leiaskywalker83!
Do either of you think I should add a background, or leave it as is?
I started to add a blury background of trees and bushes, but I'm not sure if it will look right.
Thanks again!
