Description
Here's the next chapter to my parody of Dumbo, Shy Little Kitten The Wonder Cat! Enjoy!! Btw, if you guys are wondering why some of the lyrics to the Casey Junior song sound different and where they came from, this video should explain that. Cut to about 40:51.www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPuv7O…
The next morning, all was silent while the morning birds chirped. Just then, all silence was broken by the sound of a train whistle.
Toot TOOOOOOOOT!!!!!
Soon enough, all of the workers of Captain Ector's Family Circus were wide awake and getting ready to start the new season. All of the performers, animals, and equipment climbed aboard the circus train, which was pulled by a small green engine simply named Steamer. Steamer had a 2-4-0 wheel arrangement, a large smoke stack, a lamp on the front, a whistle on the side of his cab, green and yellow pistons, and a cowcatcher on the front. Even though he was small, Steamer knew his way around pulling long and heavy trains, and the circus gave him a permanent home because of it. The little green engine was anxious to get started. As his engineer oiled his pistons, Steamer watched as performers, animals, and newly painted wagons, props, and rides were loaded onto the train.
On one of the flat cars, a worker unfolded the canvas to the bear wagon as the mother brown bear settled down with her cubs. Another worker closed the car which housed the kangaroos. The ponies and camels shared one car, they climbed aboard as the workers removed the ramp and closed the door behind them. On another flat car, an elephant pushed the tiger wagon, but accidentally pushed it too hard that it bumped into the calliope making it toot in response. As the workers were getting the train loaded, a gray cat in a human cannonball outfit was lugging a suitcase up until he tossed it into the luggage car. Then he looked around the winter quarters. "Ed," he called out, "Let's go!! If you don't hurry up, the train will leave without you!!" "Coming Dunlap," a voice answered as a brown dog in a clown getup was driving in a funny clown car. He passed Dunlap as he drove the ramp up into the luggage car and crashed it inside. "Ed!" Dunlap said, "What did you do that for? My stuff was in there!" "Oops," Ed chuckled as he got out of the luggage car,"Sorry Dunlap."
Toot TooOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!
As they heard another whistle from the train, Dunlap said, "Let's go Ed, the train is pulling out!" Then they boarded the train as fast they could. In another part of the train, a mama hippo and her calf dove into their car, but it took the calf a few seconds before taking the plunge. The giraffes soon entered their car as they stuck their heads through the roof, while their baby did the same. Then came the elephants who boarded their car, while cats were sitting on top of them heading inside. Soon a mother elephant and her calf were about to enter inside, but stopped for a moment. Perched on top of the mama elephant was Mrs. Tabby and Sylvester, who looked up one last time for a bundle from the stork. As they sighed, a trunk tapped lightly on the mama elephant and a voice said, "Pull it in Winifred, get moving!" This voice belonged to the biggest elephant in the circus, Goliath the Great, who was wearing scarlet robes. On top of him were a siamese cat named Isis and a white furry cat named Snowbell. As the mama elephant grumbled from this, she, her calf, and the cats on top of her entered the car as Goliath pushed her inside. As Goliath entered though, he ended up getting stuck in the doorway from his massive weight. It ended up taking five to six workers while the two cats pressed against the door to try and push him in. When they finally pushed them inside, Goliath turned to the workers and trumpeted to them with a scowl up until the top door shut right in his face.
As the train was finally loaded and ready to go, a red headed tall man named Kay called to the caboose, "Alright dad!! We're ready to go!!" From the caboose, a short and plump ringmaster named Captain Ector popped out and responded, "Okay son!!" Then he waved to the engine calling out, "All aboard!!! All aboard!!" Hearing the signal to get started, Steamer happily responded by blowing his whistle, "ALL ABOOOOARD!!! LET'S GO!!!" He soon tried to get moving, but the train was so heavy that it didn't even budge. Steamer tried with all his might to pull the train, but ended up bashing into the cars instead. But when the train bashed back into the engine, Steamer tooted, "WHOO-HOO!!" With a huge jerk, a wheesh of steam, and a brisk puff of smoke, Steamer finally got moving and took off down the track. As the circus train left the winter quarters, Steamer's steam calliope started to toot and play music as all of the performers, animals, and workers broke into song.
Steamer's circus train
Is on it's way
What a happy day
For a holiday
Hear him puffin'
Comin' 'round the hill
Steamer's here to thrill
Every Jack and Jill
Every time his funny
Little whistle sounds,
TOOT TOOT!!
Everybody hurries
to the circus grounds
Time for lemonade
and Cracker Jacks
That means Steamer's back
Steamer's comin' back!!
As the train flew across the tracks, kids ran alongside it until they reached a hill. Then they waved goodbye as the train continued to it's first stop. The circus was on it's way!
All of the respective characters and stories with the exceptions of Ed, Dunlap, and Steamer here don't belong to me! They belong to their respective owners.

Though I think the original Roll-a-Book images might be in the Blu-Ray gallery, until I confirm it, most of it is still locked away in Syracuse University. Plus this is one question I've been thinking of: Would unseen concept art count as lost media?

The Circus is Coming! (btw, can you draw Susan's Helper: Suzy, her basis was inspired by a Road Runner Cartoon when Wile E. Coyote is running by a train.)
