Here's another personal favorite train character of mine other than Casey Junior, Tillie the little engine that could!! Since I love trains and railroading already, it's almost unheard of to not mention either this character or the story she came from. This cute little engine appeared in the 1991 animated adaptation from Universal of the classic story, The Little Engine that Could. I'm going to say this right now, I absolutely LOVE this cartoon, and I believe that it's an underrated gem. I loved it ever since I was a kid and was very glad I revisited it recently! It has fun characters, a great story adapted well from it's source material, a wonderful song, and fun characters voiced by some great voice actors(Neil Ross, Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, Kath Soucie just to name a few)! It's so underrated that it only got a VHS release, it never got it's chance to be on DVD or blu-ray, it is that overlooked! If you guys haven't gotten the chance to see this adorable cartoon, go do yourselves a favor and watch it. It may be on VHS, but you can also view it in it's entirety on Youtube. Trust me, you'll be glad you did.
