Firstly thought as IX - From the Wilderness prompt, (and again I was killing myself with a huge angst comic :'D ) but he already has completed all the prompts, but I needed a lore picture for them.So here you go, your daily dose of pain.
Long story short.
He was raised in bad conditions in a crumbling farm and turned aggressive and dangerous, killed other farm animals, and even people...
So the police and villagers had to take him to the slaughterhouse.
He was chained, forked, put the muzzle to prevent accidents, but he debated as much as he could. The fight was savage.
In that chaos one old man yelled.
"What are you doing to him?"
"Stay back, he will get what he deserves"
"Are you taking him to the slaughterhouse? A kuku?"
"Yeah, what you think sausages are made of?"
The man glared at the officer, and with a glance to the iridescent rook, suffering and sick of all this hustle; replied:
"I'll take him"
"Are you mad?"
The crowd suddenly hushed.
The man was actually serious.
"Fine" said the officer with a subtle giggle "Free him"
The ropes were cut, and the people retreated quickly in the fear of being attacked. But the rook didn't move, surprised he wasn't abused anymore.
The officer ordered the crowd to go away, and while the man was taking the last sheets of the transfer; whispered to him with sarcasm "have fun" and left.
The old man approached the shiny rook, heart pounding, took the brindle and strook him.
He trusted him from that moment.
-------------------------------------------------
After a week from the adoption, Ephaestus, (yes he got a name) was recovering well; still with a muzzle because he couldn't live together with other kukus already due to his bad temper. The man visited him everyday, feed him with food, vitamines, and love.
A lot of vitamines we assume, Eph became a big scary beef.
He still can't stand noise and kids, but became as calm as his master.
hOLy SHIT I didn't mean to write this much??!

So good! So sad how that happens to dogs who had a bad start in life. (Though not the sausages)

Ohh good lore! I love it. I'm always sympathetic for a rescue story. I'm still working on mine for my boy Spade, he's got black sclera and saber mutation, so I thought "he's big and scary, but deep down has a heart of gold". :3
