i love this on. Indeed, the hanky would be cheesy. Her expression of disgust and her pale skin against the black paint (or whatever it is) is amazing.

i love this one. she captures the feeling so well in her face and in her body language. EXCELLENT!

maybe this one could have been more expressive as a wider shot, showing filth all around her as well, as shot it seems to me its more about self-loathing than a general loathing of life... her pose also shows her retreating from the filth, but she doesn't show disgust at herself being covered in filth so much...maybe having her clutch a clean hanky or towel wistfully would add to the image? I'm thinking of Lady MacBeth trying to wash her hands of imaginary blood here....

it is self loathing...and yet she does nothing about it. I think the hanky might make it a bit cheezy?

on reflection, the hanky would be too self-evident, its just the curled up pose that throws me...feeling dirty, withdrawing from the world...maybe if there was some contrast between her dirtiness and her suroundings would have helped?
