Description
I short story here with no major drama - just the First Officer of a Kane Express shuttlestar flight and her growing second officer. I've been doing alot of renders with the awesome Shuttlestar model so thought I'd add a short story in to the mix.

Kane Express flight EX1007 banked gently as it cruised around Kane Alpha just above the planets atmosphere. The Shuttlestar short haul flight had cleared the sky space around Logan Spaceport and was in cruise. First officer Jackie O’Hara rested back in her seat and looked across at her second officer, Kasey Karkorian.

“Hey KK” said Jackie “I’m kinda noticing you’ve put some on.”

“Unmmm…”

Kasey looked away from her instruments and down at her middle. Her belly had thickened out and was tight in her uniform top and bulging slightly over her pants. Working for Kane Express with long hours in the cockpit, dinner at skyport lounges and a steady supply of treats onboard and Kasey knew she was filling out her uniform.

“Happens to all you Corp chicks” laughed Jackie.

“At least I’ve not got some skinny Aurellian bone ass.”

“Fat ass!”

“Bone ass!”

The two bit there tongues; some banter was okay but they were strict rules about cockpit conversation when a shuttle was in flight. Both focused on the flight plan. They were on a run from Logan Spaceport down to the small city of Kirksville. With thirty passengers onboard the shuttle was half full and the flight was routine. It was Jackie and Kasey’s fifth flight of the day and the challenge was to keep focused.

“Okay, we’re on cruise for…ummm…one hour” said Jackie.

“Yep” replied Kasey whilst reaching into her compartment and pulling out a can of Blow Out energy drink. She popped the top and took a long drink.

“Blow Out again” laughed Jackie.

“Yeah baby, our schedule today sucks.”

“You bet.”

Jackie looked out at the space around her; to the left masses of stars and to the right the huge planet Kane Alpha. The days schedule had indeed sucked; IFS to LSP to IFS to LSP to KSV to LSP to JRS. Her working day was made up of skyport codes.

“We’re overnight at JRS” said Jackie.

“Yep, how long are we stopped over at KSV?”

“Ummm…it’s a turn and burn” said Jackie.

“That sucks; I could murder a Mega Burger.”

“I’ll call the service droid and it can you some food, growing Corp girl.”

“No way, the food onboard is…like…totally rank!”

“True” laughed Jackie

Ten more minutes of uneventful flight passed and Jackie said:

“You wanna rest KK?”.

“Sure…I was like up at five this morning…”

“Okay, get some sleep.”

“Thanks.”

Kasey closed her eyes and drifted into a sleep. In cruise and it was normal for one of the pilots to catch up on some shut eye. The shuttle flew itself in cruise and with long working days pilots took what they could. Flying for a regional shuttle line could be hard work. Jackie kept one eye on the instruments and the other on her second officer. They made a good team. Kasey was an ex Mobile Forces ground attack pilot and was adapting well to the more careful and mundane world of a commercial shuttle pilot. Unlike some ex military types Jackie had flown with, Kasey thought about the passengers behind them and wasn’t trying to win the medal of honour with every landing.

She was also hot and sexy and Jackie had a serious crush on her. Jackie mused about the overnight stop over in JRS. Could she make a move there? Probably not. They would be dead tired and would just crash out. But she had to move soon. Kasey had been a second officer for a couple of years and with a good record would get a promotion to first officer soon.

With the rumble of fusion engines in the background Jackie flew on.

Meanwhile Kasey snoozed and thought about First Officer Jackie O’Hara. She loved flying with Jackie. Some of the other first officers were jerks and talked at her like she was an idiot. Meanwhile others flirted shamelessly in an obvious effort to get into her pants. But Jackie was fun, took no shit and was a good pilot. She was also a cute, petite little Aurellian and that was what Kasey liked. Problem was how to move things forward?

An hour later Jackie woke her partner up:

“Hey KK” said Jackie “we’re ten minutes out of marker twenty, you wanna fix us some coffee and we’ll go through approach and landing checks?”

“Sure” said a groggy Kasey.

Jackie watched her second officer haul herself out of her seat, squeeze past, open the cockpit door and step through into the passenger cabin. She couldn’t stop herself checking out that ass. A big thick butt that still had some tone from Kasey’s army days but that was growing softer and plumper by the month. Jackie thought about some of the really hot, fat Corp girls who flew for Kane Express. Soon her buddy KK would be sporting that look. Five minutes passed and the door opened and Kasey returned with two coffee’s.

“Thanks.”

Sipping her coffee Jackie waited for Kasey to settle back down. Experience taught her never to rush through the landing checks. Most shuttle accidents occurred on landings within a planets atmosphere. There was atmosphere, weather and all kinds of other things to take into account.

“Okay, systems checks and landing…” said Jackie.

They worked through them before receiving clearance for approach and landing from Kirksville. The descent was rapid; the shuttle buffeted by the weather as it entered Kane Alpha atmosphere. The back thrusters roaring as the Shuttlestar slowed down for its landing. Sticking to plan flight EX1007 touched down at Kirksville bang on time. Taking their stand next to the small terminal Jackie and Kasey waited for the passengers to exit before Jackie said:

“Mega Burger?”

“Have I got time?”

“Sure you have…”
