Space Pirate vs EliteElites are kinda like ninjas, right?
Drawn in takamin oekaki. The funny dialogue was added by other people in the chatroom. Note the use of multicolor/directional light sources! Ooh! Masterful! Disciplined!
Fun Fact: "Haloid" is the name of a CG animation short by Monty Oum. It was much acclaimed for its fine choreography and dorkgasmic combination of Metroid and Halo sci-fi action. More for the latter than the former, which Monty Oum bemoaned in the commentary accompanying the movie.

Elites obviously win. I played the entire Halo 4 campaign on normal today. NORMAL. Died so many times cuz the pigfuckers spammed plasma nades' at me...still love em', though. ^^

I think it strongly depends on the type of Space pirate.
low ranks vs low ranks? so long as the power difference between the two stories is kept out of the argument is kept out of the discussion. (something about Halo covenant infantry weapons being measured in megawatts while metroid weapons are measured in terawatts), a low Elite vs a low pirate I'd put my money on the Elite.
then there's some that can match a Promethean knight technologically speaking (minus watchers) with a few Elite perks (like at-will personnel teleportation, shield, high density fictional metal armor, nearly industrutable shields similar to Hardlight shields, cloaking (that's harder to see through than Halo cloaking, built in energy sword, etc). and their physical ability.
then there's been some that are physically stronger and larger than typical hunters who's very claws are energy weapons.
and that's just staying within their common soldiers, not their generals with the odder abilities or.. aren't even the same species.

HAHA! I love when they say that. I put my rebuttle in the form of a list. For example:
1. Samus has Power beam, Plasma beam, Ice beam, and wave beam. Here's the funny thing: None of these are lasers. By definition, Chief has used exactly one more laser than Samus. The rather cumbersome Spartan laser that would not do any real damage to her shields. I also have many more weapons to choose from.
2.Morphball bombs would kill him. Boostball would outmaneuver him. Powerbomb would incinerate him. Morphball is more than enough for Samus to win.
3. She has missiles. Missiles that home in, and can be fired five at a time. Chief dies from one rocket. Case closed.
4. Samus has better shields. Shields that, you know, can sustain damage. One explosion kills Chief. Being stepped on by a 110 ton monster, clawed by a dragon who shreds ship hulls, and being orbitally bombarded has not scratched her suit. I'm serious. It has never been scratched.
5. There are energy swords in Metroid. They deal minimal damage to her, but are a one hit kill to everything else. FYI, Chief doesn't have an energy sword. He's not an Elite major.
6. There are grenades in Metroid. They stick to your suit until detonation. They deal minimal damage.
7. Samus has MUCH more gear. Too much to list. Sufice it to say I could win this argument with just the gear.
8.Samus has her own personal spaceship. She can order it to bomb things. If Chief gets into a vehicle, he's just a bigger target to blow up.
9. Planet Zebes BTW. Given augmentations to survive the environment, which happens to be 865 time earth's gravity. Yes. Samus can handle greater gravity levels than Goku as a TODDLER. Seriously, she could splatter Chief with an exceptionally hard slap. Outside of her armor. WHILE HE'S SHOOTING AT HER.
That guy needs to grow up. He also needs to learn to know some shit about what your talking about. He doesn't even know that Halo doesn't have lasers aside from the Spartan Laser, and Metroid doesn't have lasers at all!

There is one thing I need to comment on the first point (though I don't know when you originally made the list). Halo has had 3 main games, and Metroid had the three Prime games. One main difference is that Master Chief has been in all three, yet his weapons never really changed (besides the newer weapons in halo 3). Samus's weapons have changed in all three Prime games. Plasma, Nova, Light, Dark, Annihilator, Ice, Wave, Power and Phazon (Phazon suit from Prime1, PED suit from Prime3). Also, don't forget the super missile combos from the first two prime games and the Ice Missiles and Phazon Missles from Prime 3.
And about the second point, you also have the Spider Ball and then the Phazon upgrade in Prime 3.
4th point: She has had plenty of different suits. For example, the Gravity Suit. She can already survive in water and Gravity Suit amplifies her movement in water; Chief dies if he goes in water cause he's too heavy.

I know. I like not using every single ability in Samus' article sothat someone can try in vain to argue against what is essentially Samus on a bad day. If they lose, I reveal that I wasn't using everything as a sort of stinger. If they win, I just keep bringing up more stuff until Samus is so loaded that nothing short of a Halo firing could be done by Chief to kill her.
And Samus could just leave the Milky Way if he tried that.

He actually only destroyed one, then went to the main firing mechanism and rendered the rest of them useless. Like I said, there's really no way Chief can beat Samus. It would have to be a completely biased scenario. Like, Samus is completely naked in the middle of a field, and Chief starts off in a capitol warship while locked on to her position.

Unless that's an Elite Pirate or a Pirate Commander and I can't see it, he's gonna get murdered. For one thing, the Sangheili's got a good two feet on him, and for two, as someone else said, energy sword = insta-own.
