With the beginning of the fall, my view of the outdoors was flooded with the overwhelming colors, gradating from bright reds to pale yellows and wonderful oranges in between.. and then, for about a week, we were shrouded in heavy fog. This piece was inspired by the muted colors of the leaves peeking through the fog.Acrylic on 24x30" / 61x76 cm stretched canvas.
I came across this wonderful fall themed contest by the group, and it seemed perfect for this piece, so this is my submission to it. =]

Ah you beat me to it! The last two days have been pretty cloudy and foggy yet it just seems to bring out the leaves even more. So I completely understand and see what you see in this painting. It's beautiful!
