Description
This mixed media assemblage piece is focusing on oxidation of metal. The slow transition of the grey of iron into different shades of orange, the red of the copper into green, it is a sign of destruction and yet in so many ways it has a deep beauty. The shapes and the discoloration of the metal is unique, and to me, it is inspiring. In this piece I tried to express that element of surprise and the unpredictable change of the elements.Mixed media painting on 18x24" / 46x61 cm on stretched canvas.
Created specially for the "Above and Beyond the Surface" art exhibit at the Britannia Mine Museum.
