Description
Is she real? Or is she like a ghost?A ghost everyone intends not to see.
Not to care.
Not to help.
Let's not turn our backs to these persons.

I really like the way this is composed, I love it when people creat images that seem as though they should only exist in the reaslm of indy art, using only their camera's... it shows an amazing amount of skill

This is a very provacative photo.
I see it all the time here in Houston.
But I've seen so many of these so called homeless
leave their spots only to get into a nice car or truck.
And it angers me to think that someone would be so lazy as to FAKE being homeless or jobless and beg to me for money.
It takes you attention off the really needy and hardens us/me to those that really need help.
I try to give money when I can and of course I get the usual, F'em, from my friends. But I can't do that.
Great idea you had there and great shot.

I can walk by the homeless with alcoholic bottles that lay around them,
And I can walk by the ones who are too lazy to have jobs,
But there are still many who have no choice, no?

very sad and expressive indeed.
the description is short but effective.
what i really like bout this pic is how symbolism (or whatever u call it in english) between ghost and her... that no one wants to see.
sad but true

I love how she has no face, how it has disappeared into the shadows. The symbolism in that alone is amazing.
She looks very natural, very calm and relaxed, as if this is all she expects from life, which is sad...
This is a great shot. Beautiful work.

"Like a ghost" fits it perfectly because we kind of want to not care, and ignore, move on in our lives. Love your message at the end. The photograph is great ofcourse.

I feel like everything has been said already, but I also really like how her face is so heavily shadowed, it fits the title very well.

i like the way u put empty spaces around the object
and all the lines actually lead the eyes to the main object
and nice contrast too
powerfully sad photo

i like how we do not see her face... like she really isn't there, just clothes covering a body that doesnt exist. gives this image an eerie feeling. a closer shot would be interesting too... to know if we can really see her or not.

Your series on realities of life is so poignant, and this photograph is no different. It's moving, sad, yet in a way strong, the person acting indifferent to protect themselves from the general society's indifference...two sides to the indifference mode, each fighting for survival the only way they seem to know how...very touching.
I like the tones and contrasts of light, the composition and how the stairs and the wall add focus and drama to the person, beautiful work, san-tor.
Whenever I pass by a person who is asking for money, I give them a small amount, no matter if they don't use it for food, that's not the point, the point is we need to care for others and their plight in life. What's a dollar here, or dollar there.

the face... the pose. the surrounding. the stairs, and the torn off sign. you take all the elements that surroung the "ghost" and combine them to make a desolate, strong, simple, photograph.

Incredible. It truly is amazing how much symbolism you seem to be able to catch in a candid. That shadow over the girl's face is the kind of shadow one would get after planning the precise time of day and location and composition hours, even days, ahead.
The little girl is so small and frail. It's incredible that people can't bring themselves to reach out. People fear acknowledging that it exists and fear even more of something like this happening to them.
Beautiful as always, thank you

It is sad that this is a world of haves and have nots .It was and still is by right of conquest and possession that this worlds lands and resources became someones property while those who are born with nothing or less must beg and struggle for a mouthful of food .. what to do..?

i think the expression of this picture is very sad. this is what most of the people see. they realize that there is something, but they dont see that it has a face, too...
