Description Some folks will argue that this is Surreal in the vein of Miro and Moore and I would agree. However Surreal here on this site either has a bad name or is associated with very detailed works along the lines of Magrite or Dali.
Abstract art on the other hand is also a redheaded step child taking a back seat to anime stuff, naked folks and emo images, which is fine. We have other places that are are more abstract friendly and we abstractionists have bounded together in our way. And truly this idiom is a hundred years old and is still called modern. Imagine someone calling a hundred year old car modern or airplane.

I dont know if I can be as eloquent as you, i will have a go. There is a lot of feeling of physical movement in your paintings. The colours are strong and vivid often with yellow and red giving a stronger sense of energy. I wondered if "dream of white heat" is reference to Klee? I sense that like me you use painting as a physcial meditation.

I can also relate to the sense of tapping into a reality that has been forgotten, the collective unconscious etc etc.

I also often see your paintings as from the point of view of viewing life rather than an object. I often find myself thinking I am looking at your vision of your dynamic world rather than a staged composition.

Incredible as if you have been in my mind for some time. I find your words as elegant as your art and it is evident that neither are far from your heart.

All that you have said is exactly on the mark. My friends have always regarded me as a mystic and joke that some remnant of my indian ancestry is struggling to be a shaman, to make myths and tell stories and tap into the greater mysteries that surround the world of the senses.

I am 20 minutes from Klees museumin Bern so it is very likely that he has been an influence. Though honestly he Giacometti and Arp (all considered Swiss artist) have always been with me as under currents or as driving forces.
Like Giacometti and (many others) I also have drawn from the works of the Etruscans while living in Florence and being daily exposed to their work.
But this is merely an extension of the lifelong journey into all things mythical as an expression of what it is to be human. I point this out because there are tiny bits of Etruscan figures in many of my works in specific White Heat.

I greatly appreciate your thoughts and see you are a kindred spirit that experiences art on a different level than mere doodling. I like to think we would have been creating cave paintings in another time that we are part of the great human current that is art.

I am always intrigued as to what we are tapping tinto with abstraction... and abstraction of what changes for each artist

Yes that is liberating nature of Abstraction isn't it it is free for us and free those that read them to finish them, and alas they are different upon every viewing. I would be curious to know what you see in my work for certain.

Yours seem to exist in some mythological space as if lost religious icons of some forgotten culture. There is a sense that they are timeless and we should be able to understand them but we haven't gotten there yet. They can be of course enjoyed for the splendid craft which they display as well, but I can't help viewing them on some metaphysical esoteric level.
A quick glance at my stuff and you'll see it is tendency of mine with titles like Junkyard of lost souls and Shaman of the Cells so please forgive me if you dislike such readings into your work, it is my quirks speaking.

Very nice - it kinda reminds me of Kandinksy's style of abstract in that you've used a wonderful array of colours and all the black lines allow all those shapes to form one larger overall composition.

I like this - nice work!

Thanks it is kind of different for me palette wise and the composition is very enclosed where as I usually like for things to exit the frame and imply even greater scale. Perhpas this one feels more safe less threatening due to this change. I forgot to put the dimensions it is 2meters x 1 meter and acrylic on canvas.
Thanks for your thoughts and glad you like.
