i usually do, but it's up to individual preference. making another normal layer on top of the lineart and painting on that will have no difference. (other than the fact that you still have your lineart below, safe and snug )

GREAT tutorial. ^^

I can't download your custom brush from the link provided... Is there some other way I can get to it?

The tiles pic reminded me of something. You know, when I was texturing the terrain for 1 of the "FIW" episode, I forgot abt the watermark on the pic. I wonder why I didn't see it when overlaying it. OMG. It was all the place n the director didn't c it. Luckily, after that I saw those letters when I was abt to send in the final file n got rid of it. Else...

Nice tutorial. I will be stealing ur brushes then^_^

It looks so simple how you explain it...
But, I donno if I can do it. ^_^" I just seem to always have problems with painting details, especially with backgrounds. I'll try to follow it sometime, though.

umm this is probably a stupid question but.. is the airbrush only for CS3? or is there an airbrush for Photoshop Elements 5?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sandara In reply to kappa-neko [2009-06-05 03:05:36 +0000 UTC]

i think it works only for CS3 and probably 2...i've had people tell me it doesn't work with photoshop 7 and CS4...and it probably won't work with elements 5...

that's the buggery thing with custom brushes...

while many of the techniques you have explained in your tutorials are useful, i am of the opinion that much of your success is based on talent more than any one technique that you used.

this is not to say that i dont think ill ever be able to color well, it will just take a lot more practice, and these tutorials will only help so much.

thanks for them though.

yes, of course. tutorials can only show how such and such an effect is obtained, or how you can work a bit more efficiently, but at the end of the day, it boils down to practice
