Its been awhile Sandara, but I just came back to this and wanted to tell you once again, this is absolute fantastic work.Β Our DM, fantastic as he is, has a way with words and describing incredible scenes and weaving wonderful tales for our adventures... but when we presented the picture to him it was the closest I've ever seen him come to speechless.Β Marcus the Archmage was an important mentor for our party of adventurers, the Silver Dragons for literally years of gameplay.Β As the epic campaign came to an end we discovered that he would be our final antagonist, setting us in motion to pull together a crown powerful enough to make gods... or undo gods.Β Such was the intent of the Archmage to use the cursed Crown of Creation to bring the gods of the setting low.Β He did this because the gods had taken the love of his life from him, his dear wife.Β Not only this, but the gods of the setting were often cruel; there was no means to salvation in the afterlife except through worship of one god or another, and refusal to worship any would see you enter a terrible and miserable existence after death.
It was a fantastic campaign, the best I've ever been a part of, and you gave us the perfect epic image to give to him as thanks.Β So thank you, Sandara, thank you so much.Β It means a lot to everyone who chipped in from our party that we got this perfect depiction of Marcus.Β

I suppose, one of your favourite contrasts is the complementary between blue and orange-brown, right?
I love that contrast, too, very much. And IΒ΄m amazed every time you use it.
In the coat, you slightly combined the colors which you also did with the magic dust and the crown surrounding. That means, also the wizard has both powers combined, shown with his coat.
However, in this piece, the contrast between cold and warm is very vibrant which isnΒ΄t the case in your other pictures, as there you only did accents in the complementary color.
