Description
This is a detail from my painting, "The Time Traveler"
In "The Time Machine" by H.G. Wells, the industrious, clever, yet hideous Morlocks live in the darkness, waiting. I have chosen to represent them imaginatively through the presence of a giant, looming mechanical visage - a construction they might have built (but not mentioned in the book).

Thanks! I researched old machinery, antique devices, and art nouveau metalwork when constructing this monster's face.
