Description
Oralie hoisted the flag over his shoulder and grinned at Unity. "Are you ready to go?"
My trans kiddos, Unity (left) and Oralie (right), celebrating pride for day 4 of LGBTWeek! Unity is mtf and Oralie ftm, so I like to think they kind of "exchanged genders" in a way. Like, "I don't want this one, and you don't want that one... so you have mine, and I'll have yours!"
Unity and Oralie belong to Sandfire12

I just saw this, and it makes me wanna draw something similar of my OC Nightshade (who is ftm) now.
(This looks amazing by the way. I really like your art style.)

Heck, I'm half-tempted to draw these two with Nightshade, if that's alright. I need an excuse to draw three dragons together again (I've only more than two together one other time and I need to do it more).
(Did you have references for them though, so I don't have to reference this and worry about accidentally making my sketch too similar to this?)

Okay. I'll try to draw them all together sometime.
I need to get a better idea of their poses, but I'm thinking Nightshade will be sitting in between the other two holding the trans flag over her body. I just need to get a better idea of their poses, expressions, and such.

Agh, typical that I come up with an idea that falls into this category AFTER pride week is long over...

Well, it's still WIP, but I suppose I could share the current draft. Basically, a while back I drew up some concepts for a potential replacement of the Sex/Gender box on census forms and whatnot that'd represent people better while also helping people as a whole to get a better idea of gender identities and sexualities, and I just recently came up with a far better version of it that I want to turn into an interactive online thing. Here's how it's looking;Β

...I'm not 100% on all the terms I've used here, and think there is some room for improvement, but it's a start. And the idea with the digital element is that once you've selected the boxes that represent you, the computer would give you the right labels and also generate a 'flag' for you that's similar in design to a DA stamp, so that anybody could see it and go "Ah, gotcha, I'll use these pronouns" or "Ah, another person like me!" and so on. Here's how it could look;Β scontent.fwlg2-1.fna.fbcdn.netβ¦
The way it works? The left stripe corresponds with the second section (Gender Identity), the right stripe corresponds with the third section (Sexuality) and the centre ring corresponds with the first section (Chromosomes). The example I've sent depicts a straight male (Blue = Male, Blue Ring = XY, Red = Gynephile aka attracted to Females), and I'm sure you can imagine what it could look like with other settings put in.

Woah, I really like this! It sounds like you've put a ton of thought and work into this and it's certainly paid off - I'd love to see something like that used day-to-day.Β
It's so much more all-encompassing than a lot of what's used today, which I think is really good - nice work!!

Ah, thank you!
It's gone through quite a few incarnations (the oldest one was a mess) and one of the biggest inspirations from it actually came from an old call-centre job of mine, cause the systems we used were old and hadn't been programmed to take transgender callers into account, so this was me thinking "If we had THIS on the screen instead of a static gender box, it'd be so easy to identify someone and not waste their time with potentially upsetting questions!"
I wish I knew where I could really advertise this as an alternative...reddit, perhaps?
EDIT: Stuck it online now;Β

Fascinating inspiration, and I do agree that your model would be a huge improvement on some of today's systems! Good to see it online, and hopefully it can be implemented someday, cause I'd love to see it <33

Thanks!
Just need to hope more people see it and help me build on it from here...
