"The Crow"

This is my sad poem.
Words I can’t seem to speak.
Images that won’t leave my mind,
Or allow me to have peace.

Death is waiting.
Waiting for me to fall.
To pay my toll in life,
& Sail away on his boat.

Not yet, not yet.
The boat is rocking in the water.
Not yet, not yet.
Let him wait for his payment.

Sail away, someday I’ll sail away.
Forgive me my time has come.
Sail away, someday I’ll pay my dues.
I’ll live forever; I’ll be the spirit guarding you.

You shouldn’t cry, when I am gone?

Remember me as I lived.
I know I should cry,
but my tears wouldn’t fall.
Vengeance is the fire,
that burns in my soul.

The night is upon me,
embracing me with its cloak.
Whispering my name in the wind,
telling me to go home.
Soon I’ll have to go,
go far away from home.
To a place I’ve never been,
or seen before.

Not yet, not yet.
