Cecile this is wonderful.
The simple BG just maximize the subject and the shiny drop is the icing on the cake.

The silvery color gives to the composition an added attraction value; the sharpness is just perfect. It allows to see the droplet (and the other one, higher), but also the little "hairs" on the plant; the composition is really simple, thus more beautiful, providing a relaxing, peaceful view.
An elegant and delicate composition, quite different from many others.
And a question: Is this actually a reflection on the drop ? Or something that is behind it, or to the sides ?
Congratulations, a real beauty !
Smiles,
M.

Thanks for such a thoughtful comment, I'm glad that you enjoyed the photo. I think it's one of my best, my only complaint is the undefined blob that is under the arch of the branch.
Thinking back on the shot, I believe that the image in the droplet is actually behind it. The drop is acting as a magnifier.

Good photos make me write ... and yours is fantastic !
I thought so about the image on the droplet. I will upload one very soon that I took this January. Everybody has droplets here !!! I had to have my own !!!
When I do, I hope you like it. I think it came out nice (not as nice as your silver one, but still nice).

Looking forward to seeing your work. I know what you mean about droplets ~ I've been playing around with droplets in colored sand, but no great success yet. Haven't tried the glitter yet ~ not sure if I'll go that route.

What about candle dust ? I really dont know how to call that. I have a candle material in the shape of powder. Maybe sand absorbs water... and that's the reason why it doesnt work good ? But a material that repells water should do well. Just guessing here. I never prepared a drop shot
