Description
Huzzah! I finally have a working prototype for a phoenix! Yea! I've had a standing order for months, but I just couldn't get the pattern to work. It still needs some tweeking, but I'm pretty happy. I used felt for the prototype, and I CHEATED! using hot glue to attach many parts instead of sewing it like a good artist should. The ones I'll be selling will be of fur and feathers like the griffins. This one I will probably give to my niece for Yule. Her name is Phoenix. (yes, I am serious. Her sisters are Isis, Sakkara, and Nyla) Finding phoenix stuff is hard...Related content

shh *I use glue for stuff too * except tacky glue doesnt work well with felt so I had to go back to sewing it on haha. I might try hot glue next time for layering stuff. I've found that trying to hotglue something that has been spray painted (paper) is a bad idea (such as spray painted paper fan with sticks). I hot glued two big fans together for a comiccon skit and at the end of the play I only had one fan left to swing around lol. Oh that was fun.

Have you tried spray adhesive for your paper work? Might work better than traditional glues. Hot glue works real well on felt. My fellow dragon-maker in CA uses hotglue to do all her felt accents.

Oh adhesive, I have that from way back. Didn't think about that at that time. I had sticks inside the fans for structure so I donno if adhesive would have held the sticks in place. Not just that... I was using the fan as a weapon (my bf and his friend does martial arts and they just taught us a few moves for the a skit) haha. Literally... my bf ducked tap one together but the one that wasn't ducktaped broke.

Very very nice work. Original design! You are too hot! (read: cool) I like this little buggar, and from the hit marks, it looks like a lot of others do too.

The tail is cool and sylized. Do you make up all of your own patterns? They all seem to work so well.

Thank you! Yes, all my patterns I do myself. This plush is rather unique as in I only have a base pattern. All the feathers were free form cutting. If/ when I make another one, it'll be very different.

Thank you! no jealous! The feet took the longest to figure out. They are far from perfect, but since its probably going to a 6 year old, I'm not to concerned.

Thanks! The wings are 6 deep and the tail is 9 not including the yellow spot. The feathers and fire are freeform. If I make more felt ones, they'll probably be a bit different. I hope Phoenix likes it. She's pretty young yet...
