Love the personality and stance of the bird. I can definitely see the quizzical expression on it's face.

He absolutely looks confused, or curious.

Nice Snap! I've seen a few of your B&W Images, do you use the camera setting for it or post-processing? I always tell photogs to never use the in Camera B&W/sepia settings and do everything in post, where you get more control out of what you want out of the picture. I've seen some of my picture when I've started out using B&W and wished I used color cause you miss what the original looked like. For example [link]
A few people asked me for the original in color and I shot it in B&W cause the way the camera was set up, and wished it was color. That's why I always shoot in RAW now.
oh and Think that Every picture has a story to tell if concentrated on a bit, otherwise you wouldn't have taken the photo, which brings more depth to it.

I definitely only make photos b&w in post-processing and I always shoot in RAW. I'll admit that I frequently use B&W to 'fix' a photo that is otherwise useless because of extremely poor lighting. It draws focus away from the photo's obvious flaws in lighting and colouring and instead to the real point of the photo, the textures, the positions, and expressions of the subject.
The photo of the cat is a great photo, but it does make me wonder what it looks like in colour.
