Actually with me I just confused the two buttons regularly when I just started out and ended up e.g. breaking glass instead of putting another cube down... Which is also bad because you can't harvest glass. xD Though I have to admit I mainly suffered from this in multiplayer.

There's a serverlist on the Minecraft forums somewhere, but the thing that makes me hesitate is that I'd rather play with friends than strangers. xD Not to mention there might be griefers. >_>;
