Well, since Manaphy considered May it's mother, how close Ash & May are to each other and when Manaphy switched Ash's mind with Jackie Walker's & stopped crying when Ash was holding it(while in Jackie's body)it makes perfect sense for Manaphy to consider Ash it's farther figure! Also Ash did put May, Manaphy & Pikachu in that escape capsule from that pirate Phantom's submarine for safety when the Temple of the Sea started flooding while he put the 1 missing piece of the Sea Crown back in place & would've failed drowning if not for Manaphy sending May's & Pikachu's thoughts of encouragement & belief in him to him! Also when Phantom took Manaphy, Ash, powered up by the Sea Crown, did rescue Manaphy!!! Great drawing you did here, Happy New Year!!!

I loved it when Manaphy switched Ash and Jackie and Manapy was happy to hear Ash's voice.
