Tigerfang padded alongside Shardstar. He should say something. What should he say? What if he sounded like an idiot? He didn't want to sound like an idiot. "So..." he began, trying to think of something to say. "Are you sick?" Oh StarClan, what was that?

Shardstar stared at him skeptically for a moment, foggy blue eyes wide with confusion. "Yes, as a matter of fact, I am." she answered, staring ahead. "I have tired-leader cough." She proceeded to laugh at her stupid joke before glancing at her paws.

Tigerfang snorted. "That's a disease I've never heard of before, I'm not sure if I have the right herbs to save you," he chuckled, glancing sideways at her. "You might not make it. Depends if I'm awesome enough to invent a cure." He was awesome enough. He would do anything for Shardstar, not just because she was his leader.

"With my senses and your awesomeness, we'll find a cure by the time we get back to camp." she agreed, laughing slightly. She glared at the Deadtree place as it passed, not wanting to go back there for a long time. Stupid birds.

Tigerfang chuckled quietly. "We certainly will," he said. Travelling with Shardstar wasn't as bad as he thought it might be. They had travelled quite a distance and nothing had gone wrong yet. He walked beside Shardstar in silence, just listening to her breathing. He wanted to tell her...how he felt. It was fighting to escape him, but he was afraid. What if she didn't feel the same way? He wouldn't open himself to her, just to be rejected. What would Shardstar think of him then? But then...what if she didn't? What if she felt the same way?
"Shardstar, I..." he began. "I think I..." Tigerfang caught himself. He couldn't do it. He just couldn't.

Shardstar stopped a few mouselengths ahead and looked back at him, tail bristling slightly. He what..? She was now dying to know, and more so determined to find out. Something was bothering him. "Tigerfang.. You what?" she encouraged, blue eyes glinting with worry.

Tigerfang closed his eyes. He just couldn't. He wouldn't be rejected by her. "It's nothing, never mind," he mumbled quietly, padding forward to catch up with her. Besides, what would he tell her? That he might love her? Medicine cats don't tell their leaders that they love them. Medicine cats don't tell anyone they love them. Tigerfang bristled. He was a medicine cat, and he should act like one. Pushing aside his feelings, he walked forward, head straight. "We better get moving," he said ruffly. "I want to get there and back before dark."

"Okay, then." Shardstar agreed, starting to walk again. As she moved, she kept thinking what he could've wanted to say. What if it's about another dream, or prophecy? she wondered, tilting her head as the entance slowly came into sight ahead. Or what if it was something more? -------------------------------------------
