Description
This is the second piece of a commission. The image is NOT the commission, the model is. The image serves to show that the model has been completed up to some point. The model has been delivered for inspection. Once the OK has been given the X3 and Skullheart will move forward. This is the CROSS BONE Gundam (or the F97 series of mobile suits) from the Cross Bone Gundam MANGA series. This particular iteration is the X2. The X1 , X3 and Scullheart and other variations are incredibly similar in appearance to differing degrees. The weapon that it appears with is the "shot lance" used by the pilot Zabine Chareaux in the Cross Bone Gundam Manga series. Like the X1 , it also uses the beam zanber and buster gun (though in it's own darker colors). This Gundam is equipped with a core fighter, which is the origin of the protruding "Crossbone" boosters in the back.
Compared with the X1 , the X2 is basically the same with some small differences. The head mounted ventilation system has been replaced with a set of vulcan cannons. The V crest has been modified to be slightly thinner and have a wing shaped protrusion from the rear. There is also an extra antennae near the rear of the head (that should only be on the X2-KAI I think). Otherwise, besides the shot lance, the rest is (outwardly) nearly identical to the X1 .
Note:
The commission did not include the "Anti-beam cloak", but did include the shot lance weapon.

That looks alot like the GN Lance used by the GYNX from Gundam 00, does it serve the same purpose or is it alot stronger than the typical GN Lance? i.e. it can withstand beam sabers?

Ahh, and what is X1 without X2? They're like sisters
although thats a sort of twisted way of looking at it...Anyway, wicked stuff (I wish X1 was in an action pose too T_T)

Nah, my fave weapon is really the lancet, in fact, the unit that my character Clest pilots has a mix between the Lancer and that multiporpose weapon from Temjin (Virtual On). In that, it alsao becomes the nose in MA mode
But yeah, looking forward to X3. And again, yopur models are wonderful references for study (for those like me who can't aford minitatures... yet!)

I think the lance is very creative, especially for this series. I have to wait a bit for the X3, but it should be friday or saturday when I start (I think).

Impressive Sandrum...i no i havnt been on much lately to admire ur work sryz
neways impressive nonetheless but what u have here looks more like X1 rather than X2 thats only been judge by the cross bone on the back which should have some teeth XD
neways the legs are a little off and dont seem to be able to have the 4 heat daggers stored.
but ur tops looks like X2 custom and legs look like X1, the calfs should be bigger
neways as i said good job...dont mind me i just love gundams

This is the X2 that katoki redesigned for his GFF series of figures which are virtually identical to each other. The X1 and X2 should both have "teeth" if this was based off the original (which it isn't). The daggers in the foot and leg, brand marker, screw whip, and scissor anchors have been created and are usable (however, the latter two do not have chains or cable -- that's up to the person who commissioned it to make). Everything else was required in the commission and exists in the model. The one thing that is definitely off (and I'm surprised no one noticed) for this render is the bump map for the leg as the calf seam is missing. Since both X1 and X2 are essentially identical machines, they appear identical in both deviations (as will the x3). Both are made based off of the master grade plastic model.

are the models you make full posable ? or are they still models ?
amazing :3
have you ever concidered mass production ?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
sandrum In reply to rippl3r [2006-10-28 12:31:55 +0000 UTC]
They're models and they're fully posable to the extent that the IK rig allows, although if the rig is altered the poses can be extended. I suppose being 3d models that mass production would just mean "copy" and "paste".
