Description I think it's "Liberta Modifica" in the show....
Alright, this is where I explain what in the world is up with the model.
First off, this mesh is based heavily off of the Master Grade (MG) plastic model of the same name, especially proportionally. However, diversions are made in different places in order to give it more of a menacing look. Most of the modifications are ideas from magazines/sites etc. For example:
The shoulder verniers are attached to intakes on the opposite end, explaining the bulge out of the armor. This idea was from dengeki hobby magazine (actually from an image at a model show from that magazine).
The Head is based off the MG but the size is altered a bit because I thought the MG head looked "cherub-ish".
The Decals (stylised 'LM' insignias) are based off an idea by NAOKI (a pseudonym I think) of dengeki hobby magazine in a scratch kit he made last year.
Also from NAOKI is the idea of giving each DRAGOON wing a name of an ARCH ANGEL. I tried to choose names that NAOKI did not, leaving out AZRAEL - (the [good] patron angel of death and suffering) for reasons probably clear to those who watched the first series.
The skeleton for the wing is based very loosely off of Katoki's design for the Cosmic Era figure of the same name. I don't really like the way it looks at all in the MG plastic model version.
Finally, the pseudo-frame in the DRAGOONs is absent in the MG version, but something I thought it could use and would be interesting if they would glow after detaching from the Mobile Suit. This idea was also inspired from Dengeki Hobby, but uses the leg frame I made for the original Freedom as a jump off point -- specifically the booster in the lower leg. The rest consists of the gun barrel, generator, clamps (for the wing skeleton). Hence, "Ale Modificata" - Modified Wings. The Cockpit is being constructed at the moment so it's not "completely" finished.
As I said though...pretty much everyone who's done gundam in 3d has done a Strike Freedom... just trying it out as well

Software: Lightwave3D (modelling,UV's) Photoshop (post, UV textures)

I love your all of your work, it is beyond amazing and is easily the best I have ever seen.

I am actually going to get a tattoo of Strike Freedom but I haven't been able to find a picture that I like to take to the tattoo artist. Could you change the pose of this so this it was from the front, with the wings open but the dragoons still docked on the Gundam, and also with the beam rifles in each hand so the rail guns are on the hips instead of the back. I would gladly pay you through paypal if you want. Just private message me if you are interested and I will send you my email address to work things out.

Holy fuck...
You should get yourself on the Bandai development team.
I'd love to see your models in future Gundam video games.
This looks about...30x better than anything I've seen in Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2.

Bandai has to sell kits, I guess.
It is very cheap, but LEGEND seems equally so, and in that case I can't say too much.

Wow. I've seen a lot of your stuff, (namely Your Wing Katoki and Wing Zero Custom models, which are quite good, I was wondering if you could do one of the two together, possibly fighting.) But this only raises my opinion of you. Excellent details with the names, (I may use them in a Fanfic I'm working on.) and I really like the darker-golden color on the joints. (most people use a very shiny, almost glowing gold.)

If you are interested, I have a pair of Gundams I need modeled. (I have the armermants, I just need some f-ing Models -for reference- so I can get to work on a fanfic.) Tell me if you are interested, please.

Wow, that's freakin awesomeness. The Strike Freedom is mah favorite Gundam.
I wanted to get the MG model, but I have a horrible since of DOOM that it needs screws, I hate screws..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sandrum In reply to Kitty1000 [2007-02-11 04:42:51 +0000 UTC]

No screws are needed for any MG SEED series model as of yet... So you are free to purchase MG Strike Freedom without the sense of "screwdriver" doom

Kitty1000 In reply to sandrum [2007-02-14 01:47:09 +0000 UTC]

yaaa! I got the Zeong MG model and a screw got jammed, I got it out, but still, I hate screws..............

joebeh [2007-02-09 04:14:00 +0000 UTC]

wow..
how you do that?
i try lightwave before, but hard to UV textures and make it so real..
is it Lightwave 8?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sandrum In reply to joebeh [2007-02-09 05:46:00 +0000 UTC]

Lightwave 8.3
You are correct. Lightwave is not very good at UV maps. Many times I use other programs to acheive that, however this time it was all lw.

I'm not much on IJ. I mean it's ok, but I think I'm gonna hold off on seed models for the time being

The Strike Freedom is one of my favorite Gundams. Either though I have the HG version, I'm thinking of getting the MG version from Hobbylink Japan. I have pics of it on my dev site. [link]

sandrum In reply to Anime-Ray [2007-02-01 00:11:10 +0000 UTC]

I don't really like it that much at all. If you are that big a fan, I do suggest that MG kit. It didn't impress me that much since after it built you kind of see how close it is to the original Freedom MG, which is disappointing. No freedom of movement in the wings either since there's a rotation mechanism built inside to prevent the wings from slipping. But the ms itself is much more pose-friendly. Still, it's not a "bad" kit I think. A lot better looking than the other horrid 1/100 ->1/144 renditions.
