Ink loses only some of his emotions, namely his kindness, empathy, and creativity, his brush runs dry (because of the last reason). Due to this sudden thingy he loses himself, using his dried brush to destroy and erase aus.

Error, seeing ink’s sudden change in motives eventually starts to think “if there’s no one to create or aus, is there balance?” Basically, yin and Yang being thrown off, so he takes the job himself. Error finds a way to create aus, his earlier ones being falty, but he over time gets as good as ink used to be, and begins defending aus from ink.
