For Keysha's contest.

You know what? I've decided I need to go to a R&C-aholics annonymous group. Seriously. Keysha mentioned that she should have one or more phoenix feathers in her hair/costume, and my first reaction was "Starship Phoenix". My second reaction was to FINALLY realize that what I've long refered to as a FAF is actually a very simplified phoenix (and then feel very stupid because it took me THIS LONG to figure it out). And so, I stole the idea of a phoenix in the middle of her outfit - although mine actually looks like a bird. Then I fooled around with the headband (I think that's the most obvious place).

Her belt was pretty fun to do. The alternating jewels-and-cloth pattern was neat. Her hair was fun, too. I had trouble deciding if I wanted her eyes to be the same red-orange-yellow pattern as her hair, or if I should make them green. In the end, I went with the green so as to draw your eyes away from that BRIGHT YELLOW skirt hem of hers.

So, yes, my very bright, very R& C-inspired entry for Keysha's contest. Has some digital work, but as the focus is on the character and not the background, I decided it should be filed under traditional artwork.
