A little screenshot I took to prove a point (sorry for the lousy quality).Why, exactly, did Ratchet's eyes flicker to the side there? And it's not a one-frame mistake, either; it's a deliberate movement.
Also, isn't it rather strange that, even though he's looking at Clank and the robot girl (who SO needs a name), his body is turned the other way?
Now, perhaps Insomniac doesn't have any body language and psychology specialists on their team (who would tell you that he's not really interested in what Clank's girl like to do for fun...), but most colleges require at least one psychology course. And there's always Internet reading and do-it-yourself self-help books (hey, when you can't sleep, you'll read anything
). So, wouldn't it make sense that at least ONE person on the team would catch this (even though, okay, they've made other goofs and misquotes, as I pointed out on my site)?I intend to play through the game with my camera and take screenshots of all the visual R/A (or should that be A/R?

Because Insomniac has OH-SO-CLEVERLY hidden all but this ONE in the non-replayable scenes...And, hey, I know I promised you fuzztakus I wouldn't draw any R/A stuff today, as a V-day gift to you all. i know this picture is super old but i wanted to still make a guess. i think hes just nervous becouse this is the first girl hes seen. maybe he thinks she was pretty hot after he found out the villain was really a female. before ratchet found out her name clank in one cut scene states ratchet was calling her something quite different with a shocked look on his face.

I absolutely LOVE the A/R pairing. I think that he is looking at her because he likes her, but that's just my(right, of course ;D) opinion.
I haven't seen this cutscene yet. (Stupid ugly mutant pompom!) Now I have another reason to finish this stupid final boss!

I'll tell you why he looked like that.. because it's OBVIOUS.... He wanted to be as openly affectionate to Angela as Clank was being to his little girlfriend... It made him slightly uncomfortable because they were apparently able to say exactly what they had on their minds, whereas Ratchet and Angela had these stupid barriers set up between each other... where they have to be coy and subversive about liking the other one.... If they could just come out and say how they truly felt, it'd be a lot easier... But instead, Ratchet is just made a bit uncomfortable by the open display by Clank and his Metal Mistress...
He's trying to keep as far from Angela as possible (which is why he's squished to the side of the couch) he's trying to avoid showing any real emotions because it's apparently the way they act up there on Veldin, and yet he wants to see if she's looking at him, or at Clank.... so he glances over (nervously)....
There you have it...that's exactly why...
I don't know why I'm bothering to type this.... it'll be ignored anyway...

Ratchet looking downwards is something screwy my camera did (I tell you, it HATES the TV). You pointed out that it looked like he was looking at "Missy" (to use arleas' name for the girl-bot, since she has none), so I went and rewatched that scene. Nah. See, when he was looking at Clank, his eyes were down and to the right (the same direction as Clank in relation to him). But, when his eyes flickered, they looked UP. And so, unless Missy is over his shoulder, he's not too interested in what she has to say (or however you want to call her communication methods). MY CAMERA IS SCREWY. Either that, or my eyes are just REALLY bad...
And as a side note, I think it's just Ratchet being a wierdo, not a Veldin tradition. If it's common for guys not to show any emotion, he'd never have learned how to, and so his disinterest would be honest, because "that's how it is", not the oh-so-thinly-veiled performance he's putting on.
