For some reason, I feel like a character with a shotgun and shield will either be extremely badass, or one of those characters that fumble through all sorts of situations. Luckily, your first character looks like a badass.
(Wasn't sure how else to describe it, there really wasn't another word that came to mind, lmfao.)

Yeah hahahah I knew right from the start that a boomstick
and a shield would be super weird and over-the-top, but I
think given my personal project's industrial fantasy thingy
I can make it work.
