I have delevoped a method to follow when I colour stuff xD But the basic is I follow this process and put the layers like this

-lights (mode luminosity)
-shadows (mode multiply or overlay)
-lineart (mode multiply and layer blocked)
-hair
-clothes (different layers for different clothes)
-skin
-background
-sketch

i see interesting... although im trying a new soft which doesnt have luminosity lol or atleast it uses different term for it..

yet im still intrigued of the linework settings... and the coloring that looks like painted i tried different tools yet none have any similiar effect
