Description
My wife has learned not to ask me for a screwdriver. (Only the sonics in the box were made by me)Related content

Looks like someone bought something from the Celestial Toymaker. Nice.

Thank you! Each screwdriver can take me a week or two to finish. I assure you, it's a labor of love.

"Sure! Which kind do you need? I have Pertwee's, Baker's, Hurt's, Eccleston's, Tennant's, Smith's. Oh, Phillip's? I don't have that one."
"...Never mind."

I could sell you the one I'm working on. It's almost finished. I cut the rest of the parts this morning. Waiting on a better set of magnets to be delivered tomorrow.(Acts as the switch) I think I'm gonna cut the slanted slot in the body of this one to increase the volume. I was also playing with the idea of adding an LED so the slot glows. This one is more true to the prop, but I think mine is more comfortable to activate. The main difference between my custom and the prop was the lack of the slot Β and the different "thumb trigger" on the neck. I changed a couple angles. When I finish this one, I'll post it with some side by side shots. But if you wanted one, I'd prefer to make it to YOUR specs. Its what I do for all my commissions.Β

If I were to get one, I'd like it to be as close to the Tom Baker prop as possible, with sound of course. As interesting as a custom Screwdriver would be, I would rather design one myself from scratch than have a variation of one of the Doctor's versions.

I kinda like designing screwdrivers myself. My custom was a little tall and lacked the sound. I saw a video of someone adding sound to a Russrep(from RPF forums) Baker sonic. All it takes is a reed switch and a magnet to make my tech work. So I tried it. And it worked. So I'm finishing it off. Its to scale and matches the angles and details of the Baker prop. But the slide only travels an inch or little more because I had to fit the electronics. There's also the absence of the set screw at the very bottom because I tried using that as a speaker hole. I could add the screw since I decided to cut the slot. Should have it posted in a day or two.

What kind of sound effects will the finished prop have?

Thanks! And yes, I've made many a sonic screwdriver. Check out my gallery. I take commissions as well. I've sent a few to customers in the Kingdom. Send me a message if you'd like to price one out!

I promised myself I would only keep what would fit in the box. It takes a lot of restraint for me to not make myself a new one every month.
