Explanation-
Grapefruit has been receiving a lot of love from others, getting three letters for heart kindle. From Berry, Colbalt and some Wyngling/wyngro who didn't mention themselves. Sans has been there for Grape, messing around and lightly teasing her for them. Though he felt kinda lonely, not getting anything himself. He told himself that its selfish to think like that, so he brushed it off. In all honesty, he didn't expect to get anything for Heart Kindle anyway. He's just fine with not getting one, as long as Grape is happy.
