Description
“ The Creator Dealing with Her Creations”. I have portrayed myself as Alice from Alice in Wonderland, surrounded by 5 major characters from the story, The Red Queen, The White Rabbit, Tweedle Dee and Dum and the Mad Hatter. Each of these characters I designed as a caricature of myself. The overall concept is my mind, juggling the many aspects of my personality. As well a the crazy and wacky aspects of my imagination creating my character designs.

All the characters overlap Alice(ME) and interactive with one another. The Queen yelling at the Tweedles for throwing tomatoes at her as they try to play innocent. The Hatter watches in amusement while the White Rabbit reminds Alice that she is very late. When making this piece, I overlaid color on everything on separate layers. Then I shaded the 5 characters graphically while Alice was more rendered, with I did with painting on top of separate layers, using multiply for the line work to show thru and using overlay and screen to help with the shading on the skin.

I also added a pattern in the background, mimicking the Alice in wonderland posters. I kept the color palette very psychedelic, much like the posters but not as overly saturated. I kept the rendering on the 5 characters very minimal in comparison to Alice so that Alice herself can stand out. Each character represents an aspect of me:

Red Queen: Temper

Tweedle: Mischievous

Hatter: Bizarreness

White Rabbit: Discipline

Alice: Imagination
