Utena truly is a captivating anime, the alegory is so deep it's truly an anime very hard to analyze.
You should see the movie, that's when shit really hits the fan X;D

I suppose it is true, both are pretty messed up and treat phychological themes, but I'd say Evangelion is much much deeper.

That movie was crazy he show especially the car scene   I think that somehow the movie and the show take place in the same continuity, how about you?

Oh the car scene was epic! One of the best scenes in the movie!

The whole movie though is quite confusing and the allegory is everywhere!
Being a movie about adolescence though I think it makes sense to be confusing, cause that's how tenagers are, confused is search of love and identity.

I consider this movie a masterpiece. People consider it bad and nonsense cause they can't get to its core. Also cause they haven't watched the anime so they can't analyze it too well lol!

When Anthy speed through the castle and the theme song played I was so pumped! It was just as satisfying when she told off Akio at the end of the show!

It took few viewings for me to truly get all the deep meaning of the film.

I really loved the film, I think that Anthy and Utena finally got free of whatever they were trapped in. What do you think those two shadow girls that commentated on everything really were?

OMG! I know!
The chasing sequence was also so cool! It kept me on my toes! The prince was such a douche bag! XD

Oh I knew what to expect before I saw the move XD It just exceeded my expectations! LOL!

Um...the shadow girls you say? Well in the end of the movie they had Utena's and Anthy's name tags.
Maybe they represent (in the movie) Their femininity, they are what UTENA and Anthy would be if they were normal. They also represent their will to flee from that world, revolutionize it. And indeed they do, Teenagers are the future of the world, so in a way they bring revolution, and maybe the end of the world means the replacement of adults, and old thinking with new innovative thinking teenagers bring (when they have grown into adults)
At least that's the way I see it.
The movie has so much allegory so many hidden paths to explore and understand. Just as adolescence does, it's confusing and needs analyzing, when you can't understand it, or decide not to, it is confusing and unenjoyable to you. Just as with a  teenager if you don't understand them and their actions, their feelings, you consider them brats, and you don't bother to understand.


That't how I see the movie.

I cheered when they finally got free! Both the Movie end and the series end felt complete and satisfying to me.

I think they should show the show is school, it's so deeply layered.
