Today, december 11th, The Desolation of Smaug is out in the theaters in my country! I'm excited as the 13 years old kid I was when The Return of the King was just released!I thought it would be fitting to post this today, my personal version of Smaug and Biblo meeting, strongly inspired by John Howe's Smaug: www.john-howe.com/portfolio/ga⦠...(and my own reading of the book when I was younger).
I drew this one year ago for the first Hobbit film, it was about time I show it somewhere!

This is beautiful! I love John Howe's Smaug (was my edition cover) but have always though it looked a little bit...sassy. Yours is very cool!
