no i mean the distance from he chest to her hip is too long, the length of her belly is too long ,,,,,it looks like her belly is stretched

oh you are talking about the anatomy.. its handy if you use a bit more words if you trying to give a critique or trying to give feedback.. but yeah, you are very right.. the anatomy of the victoria4 model isnt perfect.. but its a nice mesh to learn from..

Good realism, and the animation looks really fluid, great work.

Simply brilliant I love how the clothing shifts and wrinkles with each step ... of course I absolutely love the way Saph swishes and sways even more Now I am wondering just what more you are going to do with your new animated Saph ... I do myself have many thoughts but most of them are fairly naughty Look forward to your next creation !!!

hehe.. well still pretty simple stuff.. next one she will actually move around while walking on her feet.. taking it step by step..

You say simple stuff but I say incredible ... I appreciate the time and effort it must take to do what you do and I must say I am really looking forward to what new and amazing stuff have planned

This one actually looks really good. I'm more drawn to the (I'm sure deliberate) lack of movement in other places like hair and stiff hands. That means I don't notice anything readily odd about the motions of the clothing. There is however, some sort of odd 'jump' in the clothing on the left side of her waist during the last/first frames of the walk cycle, when it resets. It might just need some smoothing on the animation between those two key frames.

its still a lot of experimenting, to see how to get the best effects on things.. im really glad you like it.. thanks babes..!!!

Right...it is a lot of experimenting, and some things work, and some don't. Keep trying!

I can see a tiny little jump where the ends meet, but some of my dynamic cloth sims with loops got jumps *way* more visible than this. Good job! ^^

SaphireNishi In reply to ken1171 [2013-01-21 15:25:14 +0000 UTC]

there has to be a way to make a perfect loop.. telling the calculated animation to look at the start pose and end there too somehow.. we got an option to grab a specif state of the garment too, so there has to be a trick to do that.. i have to look into that more...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ken1171 In reply to SaphireNishi [2013-01-21 15:35:14 +0000 UTC]

Until we figure it out, we just have to wait for the sim to settle and go trial-and-error trying to find which frames will (more or less) match. -_____-

what i did here was morph the last frame into the first frame.. the previous one i did the morph from the end frames to the start frames.. but here i did it the other way around which gave a way better result..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ken1171 In reply to SaphireNishi [2013-01-21 21:00:08 +0000 UTC]

You mean 2D morph?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SaphireNishi In reply to ken1171 [2013-01-21 21:15:14 +0000 UTC]

no 3d.. im using the morph modifier for it.. basically you grab the last frame state and the second or third frame state of the garment.. and the moroph the dress from the last frame into the frame you also grabbed.. so that gives a nice transition.. the only problem is that this way it doesnt consider the movement of the character.. so i apply a fff box modifier to fix the poke throughs of all the frames the transisiotn of the morph is going on.. its not perfect but its the best solution for what i can think of now..

Wow then that is tougher than I thought. Now that both MAX and Maya live under the same roof, I wonder why Autodesk doesn't share some goodies between the two. ^^

SaphireNishi In reply to ken1171 [2013-01-23 23:02:10 +0000 UTC]

ehe.. well maybe there is a way to do it but i just dont know it.. how would this be done in maya then ? what goodies do you mean ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ken1171 In reply to SaphireNishi [2013-01-24 00:21:29 +0000 UTC]

I have a friend who uses Maya, and he has shown me animations he created using Maya dynamics that loop seamlessly when you configure the animations to loop after a certain frame. I have no idea how it is done in Maya, but I have seen the results - and those would not even be possible to create with the methods we use in MAX because of the general direction of the movements. My bet is that Maya uses parametric curves to smooth out the beginning and end of a dynamic simulation, making them seamless.

The morphs you told me about do the same, but you have to do it manually, and still only affect a few frames. Maya is not my tool, so I can't be sure of how it does it, but I have seen the results.

SaphireNishi In reply to ken1171 [2013-01-24 00:31:07 +0000 UTC]

oh, but i have seen people do it in max as well.. youtube is full of animations made in max with a perfect loop in them.. so its not impossible to do it in max.. the only question is how.. we will figure it out eventually.. its one of those thing you just suddenly stumble upon and find out its actually really easy to do..

The animation is fantastic and fluid and the artwork top-notch.

However. The female foot does not point with such exaggeration when walking in heels. The way her foot is pivoting from the ankle upon the bound of her stride would be a massive hyperextension of the joint. When women walk in these kinds of shoes, the pivot of the ankle is very minimal, if any at all, and it looks more "mincing," as the foot is already in a state of extension from the platform of the shoe

hehe.. thank you for the compliment and the feedback.. but you are kinda stating the obvious here.. i know how to walk on high heels.. i probably know even better then you since im a girl and you are guy.. then again i dont know what you do in you spare time.. anyways, the problem is not that i dont know how the feet should be moving, but actually making that movement is the problem.. im still learning how to get perfect the animations..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Irixian In reply to SaphireNishi [2013-01-21 19:14:25 +0000 UTC]

Well, I certainly don't walk around in women's heels in my spare time...they're so expensive in my size!

I wasn't criticizing you, sweetheart, and I'm sorry if it came off that way. The movement of the feet was the only thing that distracted from an otherwise, frankly, amazing bit of animation. The cloth, in particular, is almost TOO real to be believed. I just wanted to make sure that there was something helpful amongst the scores of "U R SO AWESUM!" comments because, after all, critique is what makes us better artists

i wasnt offend.. i was just saying that i know how to walk on high heels, what it looks like and that its difficult to get that into an animation.. nothing more, noting less.. its all love from this side, babes..
